THE Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on Wednesday held a meeting with Ugandan Justice and Constitutional Affairs minister Kahinda Otafiire to discuss Kampala’s suggestion of organizing the next Pan-African Meeting Conference in Cairo.

The meeting took up strong ties and reviving Egypt’s role in the development of the Nile basin countries, presidential spokesman Alaa Yusuf said.

Otafiire anticipates a pivotal role to be played by Cairo on the continent, noting, Egypt is keen on effectively helping all African states, the spokesman said.

During the talks, President Al-Sisi said Cairo appreciates Uganda’s suggestion, highlighting efforts to revive the momentum of Egypt’s role in Africa.

The minister urged more efforts to be exerted by the African States to overcome security and economic challenges, the spokesman added.

The President has also warned against the expansion of the terror attacks as the map of terrorism widens by brutal groups, the spokesman said.

Otafiire said the National Resistance Movement, which was launched in the early 20th century, seeks to achieve integration and unity among African countries both on the political and popular levels, as well as connect African migrants with their homelands.

According to Otafiire, the conference would be a good opportunity to communicate with various popular and social groups in African countries.
